How time flies

Hi everyone, long time no blog... I have been a little busy lately with my boys on school hols, recovering from the crazy christmas season and just trying to get back into the swing of things.. Excuses, excuses I know..

I have managed to whip up a few things lately though, I saw these gorgeous Melly & Me patterns and just had have them, I had the perfect fabric waiting.. I especially love the unicorn, she is so cute.. I made two of the gorgeous butterflies one of which I gave to my beautiful 3 month old
neice.

Well, my nightmare bathroom and laundry renovations were finished before Christmas YAY, the only thing I have left to do is paint the window frames.. It turned out exactly as I wanted after a few hiccups.. Will post pics shortly over the next week or two I hope..lol

Where did the time go !!

Wow, its been so long since I have blogged... I have been pre-occupied with my bathroom and laundry renovations, choosing colors, tapware, tiles etc. No more yukky retro blue floor tiles, no more yukky blue laminex benches. Its a pretty big job, the whole lot is being gutted, nothing worthy of keeping..lol , walls are being removed, windows are being made bigger, doorways changed, I will be glad when its all over and it only started yesterday. They will be working with a jackhammer and a diamond saw for the next few days, ewww, noise and dust !! Will post pics when its done ( in about 3 - 4 weeks ).

I have hardly been near my poor sewing machines this month so sadly I have nothing new to show you, I am in the middle of a couple of new projects though so it wont be long till they are finished ( hopefully ).

I did buy a new camera after my old one bit the dust, its amazing the things I can do with the newie, no computer software needed.. Heres a few random shots and some piccies of my fat Demara lambs that were born in August, they are so cute!!

Hi everyone, Ive managed to squeeze in time for a quick bit of blogging, my poor blog, neglected again..
Here is a picture of my latest bag, a style I have been making for quite some years but it is still a favourite, so feminine and girly. This fabric was hard to resist so I just had to have a little ( actually I bought quite a bit of it..lol ). Looks sweet with the purple ruffle I thought..

Id like to show off this enormous bunch of Proteas my husband came home with for my birthday, I just love Australian native flowers..!!
I got so spoilt, a day of fun shopping, then out to dinner with my gorgeous husband and kids for a lovely meal and lovely wine at one of my favourite little restaurants in the hills. Perfect ..

Cupcake quilt..

Well its been ages since I have blogged or even visited anyone, slack I know, Ive been preoccupied with unfinished projects, children, animals etc. School holidays are also here so I am enjoying having my boys home with me, I miss them when they are at school, ah they just grow up so quickly, 7 years have just flown by..Scary really....

Here are some pics of one of my latest projects anyway. It was a a custom order, queen size quilt made for a gorgeous little girl who loves cupcakes and icecream. I had a ball making this one, it took me ages, lots of appliqueing and then quilting !! Im thrilled with the finished result is just so girly.

Wow, how gorgeous is this !

I bought this lovely frame on ebay of course, it was a mirror. Strangely when I hung it on the wall it suddenly turned all reflection into something you would see in the " house of mirrors " at an amusement park. Now, even though the mirrors made everyone look extremely tall and skinny rather than the alternative of short and fat when it was hanging sideways, I decided the mirror had to go. My wonderfully talented friend Anna painted me this gorgeous picture to put inside. Of course there was the dilemma of removing the mirror which I realised had been glued in... I couldnt bring myself to break it, I dont like the idea of 7 years bad luck hanging over my head, so I took it to the local framer who smashed it out on the spot and popped my new masterpeice in. It looks lovely hanging above the bed, Im thrilled..

PS I have been a little lazy blogging lately, just not enough hours in the day, I be visiting soon.

The new arival

I left home yesterday for a visit to the horse dentist with one horse on a float and came home with 2, well one and a quarter..lol My gorgeous old friend of 24 years Rebel passed away in December not long after his 34th birthday. I miss him dearly and so did my other horse " Rocca", I felt awful seeing him all by himself with no horse to talk to.

Well it must have been karma as this little miniature pony was offered to me, supposedly a bit of a grump with a few bad habits but hey, we can all be like that cant we. On our way home we stopped for a quick visit and I was talked into loading him onto the float as well ( although he would have fit in the back seat..lol).

Ive called him "Salem" as hes a bit of a devil and does have a few cheeky ways but otherwise hes real sweety. A bit of time spent on him and he will be fine, hes only 3 years old so Im thinking about breaking him in.

Rocca seems very happy with his new companion and the size difference doesn't seem to be a problem, its quite funny to watch them together though. When I call them up for dinner my big boy thunders up and then miles behind with his teeny tiny little legs going as fast as they can go is little Salem, hilarious!..

Scrapalicious !!

Here is my latest finished quilt, I have named it Scrapalicious!!

I sat hand stitching the binding to the back of my quilt by the glow of the television whilst watching Desperate Housewives then Brothers & sisters until finally the last stitch was in place.....ahhhh all done, I love that feeling.

I started this scrappy quilt before Christmas and have finally moved it from the unfinished projects pile to the end of my bed. I was on a bit of a mission to get my stash pile down but as I mentioned in my previous post, I always seem to be missing just that bit of something, I know all you crafters out there know exactly what I'm talking about. I refrained quite well though on this one I think. Its made completely from my scrap pile with the exception of the gorgeous hot pink fabric I used for the binding which I had sitting there waiting for ever ( along with all the rest ) for the right project to come along . As for my scrap pile, well, its still enormous. I think it always will be.

I have two quilts under construction at the moment, one in its final stages with the top being completed and I have just started an heirloom quilt for my mum, I really should learn to finish one thing before starting another but when the mood strikes you just have to take action ( and I might forget my ideas .lol.) ....

Patchwork Pretty..

I love spots, even my horse has them..

Ive been spending a bit more time in the saddle than behind the sewing machine lately. I did manage to make this pretty patchwork bag the other day. I have so many scraps in my stash at the moment, I thought what better thing to make than a scrappy patchwork bag with some of my favourite pinks. Well one thing led to another and the moment I finished the bag I started on a new scrap quilt which I planned on making completely from my scrap stash, I love making scrap quilts and I cant tell you how many i have made as I have lost count, but I can tell you that no matter how hard I try to refrain from purchasing any more fabric I always weaken ( I havent yet, yippee ), there's always just that little bit of something missing. I have finished the top and am now in the process of quilting the 3 layers together and then of course there's the binding.. Strangely after completing the bag and the quilt top my stash looks not one teeny bit smaller, it could be that half a yard of pink roses that I just had to have or maybe the polka dots.

I found this so ummm cute? well funny anyway I just had to share. My son made this clay monster a few days ago, now dry he brought it out proudly to show me. If you look really closely you can see he has leaves for ears and arms, his hair is made from carefully selected little twigs. Now if you look really closely, really closely

Can you see what his eyes, nose and mouth are made from?? Can you guess?

If you thought Rabbit Poo then you would be right, yep, very carefully placed rabbit poo. Now thats what I call creative..lol

Dinner Guests

We awoke to a gorgeous drizzly morning this morning, not rain unfortunately but at least a little sprinkle. In the background I could also hears birds, lots of birds. I grabbed the camera to take some snaps of these gorgeous Rainbow Lorikeets feasting on my apple trees. The apples this year have suffered and arent nearly as good as the past few years, many are sunburnt and small but the trees are laden and my guests only seem to eat the ones I cant reach anyway so we dont mind sharing. The ones that fall or get dropped on the ground are then eaten by the sheep, goats and cows so nothing goes to waste at least. Arent they pretty, the colours are just amazing!

I'd like to introduce you to my cat Mufasa ( named after the Lion king of course ), the boys chose him from an animal shelter a couple of years ago and he is a fabulous farm cat. He is fearless by nature and spends his day hunting rabbits which are bigger and heavier than him, hes quite amazing.
The kennel pictured belongs to Flash the Jack Russell.
We arrived home this afternoon to find Mufasa fast asleep in Flash's kennel, with apparently no intention of moving, even the poor Flash couldnt get him out, he stood there barking for ages, Mufasa didnt even bother to completely open his eyes, he just ignored him... Poor Flashy who will take on a fox without hesitation would not dare to mess with the cat..
Looks like I may have to get another kennel.. I hope Flash's pride isnt too badly bruised. lol

Sweet Cupcakes

Well here they are, my new range of cushions.

I have had great fun making these and there are many more on the way in lots of different colors and textures, my ideas seem limitless at the moment, now all I have to do is jot them down so I dont forget them all.

Does anyone else have that problem? Sometimes there is just no stopping me and other times I have " sewers block " where i just sit and wonder hmm what can I make, but all that comes to me is a big nothing....

I have taken a couple of custom orders Cupcake cushions with little girls names requested underneath in place of the word "Cupcake" and they look so sweet.

Its nice to get back into the swing of things, it sure has taken me a while this year. Time seems to just vanish, where does it go?

Ive managed to list a few on ebay and also a couple on my website.

A bushfire Sunset

Beautiful pictures caused by the most destructive fires Australia has ever seen.

I took these pictures on Sunday the 8th from my back verandah, the night after these devastating fires began. This eerie sunset was caused by the Bunyip Ridge fire.
I wont go into it any more than this, Im sure these fires have made the news worldwide and everyone everywhere is quite aware of the devastating effect this has had on so many without me posting devastating details about it.
So many innocent people and animals living through a time that would seem like nothing short of Hell on earth.

The " Anna Bag "

Here are some pictures of my latest bag which I made for a friend of mine who happens to be a very talented artist and newly obsessed quilter. If she hasn't got a paintbrush in her hand then shes probably churning out her next quilt .. I love how this one turned out, it would have to be one of my favourites.

The colors were inspired by the pictures of my back paddocks, and although the colors out there are beautiful it would be nice to see a little more green amongst it ... hint hint, c'mon rain!!

When the cows come home.

We had these new Angus steers delivered yesterday, they certainly wont be short of food, the grass is up to my waist. I went out to check our new arrivals this morning on the motorbike ( no walking in that long grass for me ..snakes !!) with my camera around my neck to get some quick snaps. Very content, chewing..

Ive been inspired by the gorgeous neutral colors of the back paddock this week and have almost finished a couple of new creations. I will post the piccies when Im done.

Raspberries and Cupcakes

Wow, halfway through January already! Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas, I know we all did here, plenty of fishing, camping etc and now sadly the holidays are over and its back into it again for another year. I thought I would share a couple of my latest creations for my ebay store with you, strangely everything I have made in the last couple of days is food related, the Raspberry tote bag and then the cupcake cushions, I think it must be because I'm on a bit of a health kick trying to shed the few kilos I received for Christmas, I must be subconsciously have food on my mind, all those leftovers and fruitcake ( my fave ) certainly doesn't help ones figure..lol I adored this gorgeous raspberry fabric and although I have an absolute closet full of fabric ( some would call it an addiction ) I just had to have it. I thought it would be nice on the lids of my homemade jam jars. My raspberries did terribly this year due to the strange weather I guess, the few I have been getting are quickly gobbled up by the kids, so sadly no raspberry jam this year. The plum trees have been good though so we will have plum jam at least. YUMM.

5 Things I love about Christmas

1.. The smell of a real Christmas tree ( unfortunately I do not love the pine needles it drops everywhere and the fact that the decorations are inclined to fall off at the slightest touch!)

2.. Decorations, here is my favourite Biker Santa, he sings and bops to the music. And the beautiful Reindeer and sleigh my mother-in-law made me last year is my absolute fave , ( yes I used last years pics, lack of time you know..lol)

3.. The food, oh the food, and the wine, plenty of wine !! Its the only day of the year I really eat ( and drink ) whatever I want and as much of it as I can fit in..lol I also love the leftovers that we all eat for the next week, makes cooking a breeze.

4.. The divine smell of the coffee first thing in the morning and the excited tearing of paper as presents are unveiled.

5.. Putting out the reindeer food, which is my horses food with a bit of glitter added so the Reindeer can see it sparkling from the sky, the birds or rabbits eat it during the night so its always gone in the morning, except for the glitter, reindeer dont eat glitter you know..lol We always leave Santa a glass of milk and a bit of Christmas cake too.

Things get so hectic around Christmas, Im so sorry everyone I double booked myself on the 13th ( with a very valid explanation). I was hosting a birthday party for my boys, 8 children on sugar highs running around the house, I had planned on an outside party, I had not planned on the pouring rain - all day!! We had pinatas, and games a plenty, lots of lollies and cake too.. Im still cleaning up the mess..lol I will add my pics over the next couple of days... So sorry I missed the party, a thousand apologies.. Ahh the chaos of Christmas, so much to do, such little time..

Well in between the Christmas madness that has already begun, organising for my twin boys birthday party ( how quickly they have grown!! ) and a busy schedule in general I have been busy making these adorable little christmas boots. They have plenty of room inside for all those little blingy things that we crave at christmas time, hanging on a bed with the latest jewellery catalogue is a great hint dont you think..lol

Chrissy Swap

Joy! My Christmas swap parcel was waiting for me at the Post Office this morning, an intriguing big box wrapped in brown paper and a big Christmassy address on the top all for me.. Armed with my cappuccino straight from the cafe i rushed to my car and excitedly ripped off the paper to find a gorgeous festive box, ribbon and all. Coffee safely in the coffee holder I opened the lid, everything was so pretty, firstly a gorgeous blingy pink Christmas stocking with tiny white beads hand sewn on, a divine little mirrored trinket box, I love it! Dig a little deeper, ah ha some pretty decorations for my tree, I just adore the clip on birds with the pink feather tails! Vanilla and orange bath salts for when I want to relax, a pretty note pad, so very cute, 2 Santa stockings filled with Santa stamps and pencils and a little Santa choccy ( 1 stocking each for my boys, they will love it ), a divine tag complete with a crystal and last but not least an adorable Tussie Mussie filled with chocolates.. I'm afraid I cant show you a picture of the Chocolates though as I ate them all on the way home, well it is a 15 minute drive you know..lol
So a very big thank you to my wonderful swap partner Linda, you are amazing. I hope you like yours as much as I like mine!!

Remember that ugly old desk pictured in my previous post that was ready for the junk pile? Well here she is all finished at last.

I love reviving old wooden furniture and giving it a new life, its always amazing seeing the end result.

I added new hinges, fixed the lovely old pigoen hole shelves that were falling apart , sanded the whole thing, applied many coats of paint, glued on the french moulds , rubbed it all back for that antique appeal and last but not least,a coat of clear sealer to make fingerprints easy to remove ..

I love how its turned out, now I just have to find somewhere to put it..Have a nice day!

I set off this morning, I had to pick up a lovely old writing desk which I had purchased to revamp, I have wanted one for ages. Here it is, nowhere as bad as I thought it would be, it even has the original key, I cant wait to get started. Its in quite good condition underneath all the scratches so now i have to decide whether to paint it white or restore it to its original state.hhmmm.. Any thoughts??

I also popped into a few shops on my way home, I bought some more crystal decs for the tree, I love the cupcake one.. I had also been bursting to get PINK's new CD ( its great by the way, I love her!!).

Well Im off to turn the stereo up loud and get sanding

Wow, hasn't the festive season snuck up quickly, the shopping centres are all ready laden with gorgeous decorations reminding us that its time to get into gear.. Time to start thinking about making the pudding and Christmas cake I guess.

I have recently bought myself an embroidery machine and I'm having an absolute blast making new creations. Here's a peek at a few of my recent pieces. The door hangers are filled with lavender and smell beeeutiful. Lots more to come, now back to sewing...............

The great Aussie Outback

Thought Id share a few piccies of our trip during the school holidays. We went to a friends sheep station in a place called Wilcannia N.S.W. The drought has really hit that town, its so very very dry and hot, the Darling river runs through the property, its not running at the moment though its just big water holes. You can walk across it in most places, so very sad. Ive taken a pic to show you just how empty it looks at the moment. They haven't had decent rain for such a long time. There was a storm on the Friday night, lots of thunder and lightning and a small amount of rain, I spent ages trying to get a shot of the lightning, I finally did, its not great but its something..
The fishing was still quite good, we caught a few Yellow Belly which the kids love to eat.
There were tiny gecko's hiding behind the bark in the trees so the boys had a great time playing with those.. On the way home there were stumpy tail lizards everywhere on the side of the road eating flowers, the kids made us stop and say hello to a couple..

It was an 11 hour drive so I loaded myself up with every craft magazine available and of course the latest Country Home Ideas. My head is spinning with ideas now i just don't know where to begin..lol

Its lovely to get away but Ahh its nice to be home again..

Spring has sprung!!

The grass is green and growing, the horses have a bit more pep in their step, the sheep are starting to lamb, the roosters are friskier than ever, fruit trees flowering, and I can enjoy the sunshine. I love spring!!

Here is my first Damara lamb ( fat-tail sheep) of the season, what a cutie...

Funny looking animal arent they, kind of a cross between a goat and a sheep, they shed their wool and need no shearing.

Thought Id share some pictures of my boys new pet Roosters - Dude & Frizzle. Dude is the spunky black one and seems to be the popular one with the ladies..lol
Frizzle is the funny shaggy one, the ladies just arent quite sure about him..

Everyone loves bread time!!

The orange pigface in my garden is looking stunning, I also love the fact that it looks after itself..lol

Wow, its been a while since my last entry, so much happening, Ive been sewing like a mad woman, custom orders aplenty!! Im also decluttering, redecorating and preparing for my bathroom and laundry reno, yay once they are done thats the house finished, ahhh finally!!

Im selling lots of furniture and knick knacks to make way for the " new look" which ive decided will be french country, so a lot of my things can stay but a lot must go. Fun Fun..

Yep, more Lamps

Well I'm still at it, Ive nowhere near decluttered as much as I would like, every closet I open i find something that I had forgotten about..lol More lamps, more lampshades, more chenille bedspreads, sheets, tablecloths, oh the list goes on and on...

I had a lovely Mothers Day, breakfast in bed, a cappuccino in my favourite pink cup and pressies too, I got some lovely Organic pink body wash, hand cream, nail polish and hairbands from my gorgeous boys which they bought from their school stall.

I was so impressed, I remember the Mothers Day stalls when I was a kid, each mum had to donate something for the stall, so it was basically all the other mums rubbish that they didn't want. One year I bought mum the item she had donated, now that just proves I know what my mum likes (or at least use to like in that case..lol).

After that we went for a drive and visited a few antique shops in Yarra Glen, and believe it or not I didn't find a thing to buy (as I have my new no more dust collectors rule in place whilst decluttering). There was a gorgeous chaise lounge that caught my eye, in pink of course, I would have loved to buy but unfortunately the price was extremely ugly. We also visited a gorgeous shop that was just full and I mean FULL of teapots and teacups, I wish I had of taken a pic. There was one teapot i loved, it looked exactly like a rosebud, sooo cute, but alas, no more dust collectors, I was strong!

Anywhoo here are a couple more of my latest lamps, these ones are for me, the floral one is made from the same fabric as my curtains and the green one is to go in my lounge room..

Well its been a while since Ive updated my blog or visited my blogging friends. How quickly time goes by! Im in the process of de-cluttering my house, just too many knick knacks and too much furniture to dust around, its all becomeing a little overwhelming....Ive been selling everything from furniture to bedspreads, if its not nailed down its not safe at the moment...

I opened the closet in my sewing room to find that many lamp bases and shades I had collected that I was shocked, so now I am busily sewing new fabric to frames to be rehoused. Oh its hard though, Im very fond of my lamps..lol.

I will be visiting everyone soon ..

Today we lost a special much loved family member, our dog Beau, 15 years young, he will be greatly missed by us all. The most beautiful loving, gentle giant.

Lotus Flowers

These are so pretty I just had to share them.
We bought a beautiful Lotus plant a couple of years ago and popped it in out Dam, it has spread like wildfire and looks so lovely when in flower with its enormous pale pink flowers and big leaves which the frogs call home. The sound outside in summer is amazing, all different frog voices singing and croaking. My goats also like to nibble on the ones that grow close to the edge. My boys were swimming yesterday in the searing Melbourne heat and I asked them to swim out and pluck a few for me. Here they are..

Craft & Stitches show

I went to the Melbourne Craft & Stitches show yesterday with my lovely artist friend Anna.
So many pretty fabrics, and I was so strong and didn't buy even a scrap...lol For those of you who have seen my stash and heard me say a bazillion times "I'm not buying anymore fabric, I have too much" well I was actually true to my word...Oh it was difficult though.
So many gorgeous quilts and bags to see, really beautiful things made by very talented ladies. I wish I had remembered to take some pics but I was so mesmerised by all the goodies I forgot.
I bought some pretty pearl trim for my lamps, some sparkly beads for I have no idea what, some pretty applique pictures for my cushions and quilts, some buttons, bag handles and a shadow trapunto kit of a gorgeous fairy.. And of course this lovely pink bag..

Easter Swap !!!

Here are the beautiful pressies I recieved from my Easter Swap.
Inside this glorious pink box were some pretty pink bracelets, , a lovely photo album, a calendar filled with verses, lip balm, scented sachets, gorgeous handmade tags, cherries and some beautiful ornaments which I adore,a gorgeous pink Tussie Mussie filled Cath Kidston soap, some yummy choccie speckled eggs too. Sooo many things!! Too many to mention and all just lovely..

My boys will love their surprises too! We sure have been spoilt.. Thankyou so much Linda I love it all !! mwa mwa

Blouse Chest

I picked up this fabulous old blouse chest, very unloved and in need of some TLC. Ive given it a fresh coat of chalky white paint, painted the drawers pink instead of covering them in fabric as they used to and added some vintage looking handles. The edges have been given a bit of a rub for that true shabby vintage look that I adore. I really dont know where these are going to go but all I know is they are staying put for a bit.. hmmmm time to shift some furniture..

Ugly and old to charming..

Yukky green handles..eww

I picked up this ugly old dresser on saturday, my plan was to repaint it and get rid of the mirror and use it as a set of drawers. When I arrived to pick it up i found the old mirror had pretty bevilled edges and the mirror was also adjustable so you could tilt it upward slightly as well, its very solid too, ohh so heavy.
I sanded it back and gave it an undercoat, then a coat of pink and lastly a top coat or two.. The corners have been rubbed back to bare wood with just a touch of pink peeping through, and last but not least "blingy handles".

Wonder if hubby will even notice its presence, probably not, things come and go quite quickly around here.lol

Apart from a visit from one of my fellow pink adoring friends for a quick cuppa ( ha ha yes Deb, Im talking about you!) Ive done nothing but paint and sew all weekend, its been a very productive weekend. Now I have to clean and tidy the house before everyone gets home so it looks like I've actually done something..lol

Pretty ruffled quilt

I had a quiet weekend this weekend, hubby took my boys camping so I had the house to myself, no cooking, no cleaning, just me my paintbrush and my sewing machine.

I think the grey clouds and rain inspired the making of this quilt. Lots of pinks and roses, it turned out beautifully, toot toot, blowing my own horn..lol I just love raggy ruffled quilts, I must say though I dont like all the snipping, it gives me ouchy scissor fingers..

Cath Kidston lamp

I finished this pretty lamp last night whilst watching "Medium" . I just love the shape of the shade. Im not usually a blue girl but these two Cath Kidston fabrics were irresistable. I have soooo many shades on the go at the moment. My fingers are sore from all the stitching..ouch!

Anyway its a lovely day, the sun is shining, the houseworks all done so Im off to ride my horse.

Well what a day! I have just got home from the doctors after taking Jake who is now sleeping restlessly on the couch with a hell of an earache, poor little man...Middle ear infection..

Whilst out I dropped in to the post office to get my mail and to my great surprise and delight there was a parcel for me, nope not ebay I thought, hmmm what could it be... Inside the box were 2 beautiful cards, one from Shannon and the other from Jullie..There were also many gift wrapped parcels...ohhh the excitement! Each parcel had a different letter from the word FRIEND...Ohh you gals are naughty and oh so thoughtful!!

There was even a little barrel of Monkeys each for my boys!

What a lucky girl I am to have friends like these, and that goes for all the lovelies at the PC , your all gems ( with exquisite taste..lol)!

They did all this because my Secret Santa ran of with a Tussie..lol

Theres nothing quite like the smell of fresh coffee in the morning (or afternoon or evening for that matter. lol). I had a late night stitching up a new creation last night and the sight of this cuppa this morning was as pretty as a picture. mmmmm I love my coffee machine.

I also use Fairtrade Organic coffee beans and Organic milk, that way I can convince myself that 12 cups a day is actually good for me..

I have just finished this pretty lamp. Pink polkadots and my favourite Ashwell fabric " Rosalie Roses". This is one of my faves so far.. I love stitching these up while I'm watching the telly at night, its very relaxing, until I prick my finger of course!

Mums Cherub lamp.

I stumbled across these pics of the lamp I made for mums birthday last year. The gorgeous vintage cherub base was an eBay find, the shade , well I cant remember where that came from ( I have a closet full..lol). The black and gold fabric was from the USA..
It took me hours to hand stitch the fabric to the frame, I like to do it the old fashioned way, I do use glue to attach the braid though.. It turned out beautifully.

Before we left on our holiday I managed to pick quite a few bags of plums from our 2 trees in the back paddock, lucky I did as by the time we returned home the birds had left the trees absolutely bare.. Anyway here is a pic of my homemade plum jam with their lids prettied up ..

Well the buzz of Christmas is finally over and life is returning to normal. I had a great break with my family camping and fishing, even though the heat was searing. The river was 33 degrees on one day so you can imagine how hot it was on land. We caught and released lots of nice size cod and swam most of the day...Lovely.. Thought I'd add this pretty pic of the river..

Well, what can I say..Im sooo lucky..

My lovely mother-in-law came over last night with this beautiful Christmas surprise she made especially for me, I absolutely love love love it! What an amazing job she has done.

My very own pink Reindeer dripping with bling and pink ribbons, what a divine Chrissy present. Hes been airbrushed with the prettiest pink, and decorated fabulously. I'm totally thrilled with him...!!

I don't think I will be able to pack him away once Christmas is finished, he is just much too pretty to live in a cardboard box..

I would also like to add, if there is anyone interested in owning one of these gorgeous Reindeer and sleigh masterpieces orders for next year are welcome.. He has been beautifully airbrushed and can be done in an assortment of colors....

Our quick trip to Australia Zoo was fab! I thought Id share a few pics. What an amazing place, I was so impressed. I always loved Steve Irwin and admired his passion for animals, it is truly expressed at his zoo. The whole place was immaculate, the animals all looked content and very healthy. The gardens were gorgeous. What a wonderful place to take the kids..

Well the shopping centres are sure feeling a lot like Christmas, people everywhere ! Im not sure why I chose this moment to start blogging but I did, I may not add a new post until february when the chaos of Christmas and holidays are well and truly over. My intentions were good though.
Well if Im not back until after Christmas, I hope everyone has a great break and a lovely day. I will do my very best not to over indulge but I know I will anyway..
